Hongguang Coffee Estate’s washed Geisha under Zhangshang Group has been awarded the runner-up in the washed processing category of the 2026 BOC China Excellent Coffee Competition.
The 2026 BOC China Excellent Coffee Selection went through four major phases: recruitment of competing coffee lots and evaluation institutions, collection, packaging and delivery of submitted coffee samples, and nationwide blind tasting assessment. A total of 106 lots of specialty coffee entered the competition, with 223 evaluation organizations at home and abroad taking part, alongside 3,334 coffee enthusiasts and industry practitioners who joined voting and sensory tasting. Only 30 premium coffee samples advanced to the final round. Twenty professional national judges conducted the ultimate scoring in strict accordance with SCA standards, awarding top three rankings separately for the washed, natural/non-washed, and innovative processing categories. Hongguang Geisha from Zhangshang Group secured the second prize in the washed group.

The award-winning Glint Radiance Washed Geisha Coffee Beans originate from Longchuan Hongguang Geisha Coffee Estate, owned by Zhangshang Group. Nestled in Jinghan Town, Longchuan County, the estate sits in prime coffee-growing terrain at an altitude of 1,580 to 1,980 meters above sea level. It boasts latitudinal positioning, climate and soil conditions comparable to Panama’s renowned Geisha-producing regions, creating an ideal growing environment for the delicate Geisha variety.

As early as 2023, Longchuan Hongguang Coffee Estate Co., Ltd. was officially recognized as a “Yunnan Specialty Coffee Estate”. Committed to building a world-class coffee production base, the estate has cultivated thousands of mu of high-altitude Geisha coffee trees, supported by complete on-site processing facilities and coffee education experience bases that integrate the coffee industry with cultural tourism development. The estate is steadily scaling up production capacity: an additional 1,500–2,000 mu of Geisha plantations will come into production during the 2026–2027 harvest season, with a planned total planting scale of 6,000 mu within the next three years.
Our Glint Radiance Washed Geisha stood out among hundreds of outstanding domestic coffees thanks to its consistent flavor profile and impeccably clean washed processing technique. This remarkable achievement not only validates the outstanding quality potential of specialty coffee from Longchuan but also greatly elevates the regional brand influence of Zhangshang Group’s coffee division.

This top national ranking marks a significant milestone for the specialty coffee industry in Longchuan County. Moving forward, Longchuan will leverage benchmark producers like Hongguang Geisha Coffee Estate to advance coffee cultivation technology upgrades, flavor innovation and brand development. The region will further explore the unique terroir characteristics and commercial value of local coffee, enabling global consumers to discover Longchuan coffee and fall in love with China’s exceptional specialty coffee flavors.
